What is Geomatics?

Geomatics involves the collection, management, integration, representation, analysis, modeling and display of geographically-referenced information describing both the Earth’s physical features and the built environment.

The principal disciplines comprising Geomatics include surveying, digital mapping, land information management, geodesy, remote sensing, photogrammetry, cartography, geographic information systems and global positioning systems.
