Funding Announced for Geomatics
Applied Research in Alberta
CALGARY, April 27, 2011: TECTERRA Inc.,
announced today a new Call for Proposals for funding for geomatics applied
research at three Alberta universities for commercialization of products and
services for integrated resource management. The
Alberta University Applied Research Funding Program is the result of the
master agreements TECTERRA signed earlier this month with the University of
Alberta, the University of Calgary and the University of Lethbridge for
TECTERRA to fund applied geomatics research.
“This is a key element of TECTERRA’s programs that
complements the tiers of our initiatives to help bring innovative geomatics
technology to critical resource management applications in the province,”
said Dr. Mohamed Abousalem, Chief Executive Officer of TECTERRA.
Applicants under this call for proposals will be
principal investigators from one of the respective universities working in
partnership with a Canadian company and/or an end-user government agency to
address a specific resource management operational challenge or a
significant market need. Principal investigators without
established partnerships are invited to utilize TECTERRA’s
GEO-Link Program, which can help to identify potential partner
candidates.
Project funding will range from $100K to $500K,
depending on the scope and duration of the project.
Interested parties can apply the Alberta university Applied Research Funding Program and sign up for the GEO-Link program by clicking the link below.
