Management Team

In May 2010, Dr. Mohamed Abousalem, P.Eng., joined TECTERRA as the first Chief Executive Officer to lead the company through the launch of its activities in providing integrated resource management technology solutions to energy, forestry, agriculture, environment, and land management and development applications. As an accomplished senior executive, Dr. Abousalem brings with him over 18 years of significant experience in the geomatics industry including product and business management as well as marketing and corporate development. Mohamed is a civil engineering graduate from Alexandria University, Egypt, and he holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary and an MBA from Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business.

Ms. Mutriba Din, CA, joined TECTERRA, in March 2010, as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Din brings to TECTERRA 20 years of experience in finance. She is a Chartered Accountant and is a commerce graduate from the University of Calgary. Mutriba started her career in the oil and gas industry and with small businesses, as an auditor and accountant. She progressed to senior financial management of major non-profit organizations such as the YWCA of Canada. Before joining TECTERRA, Mutriba was a Senior Financial Analyst with the University of Calgary (International). Prior work experience includes positions in Calgary, Yellowknife, Toronto and Montreal.

Dr. Naser El-Sheimy, P.Eng., led the inception of TECTERRA since the very early days of the concept and he is now serving as the company’s Scientific Director. Dr. El-Sheimy is a professor and former Head of the department of geomatics engineering at the University of Calgary. He holds a Canada Research Chair (CRC) in mobile multi-sensor systems and his focus research are is GPS/INS integration, multi-sensor systems and mobile mapping systems. Naser has published a book and over 350 papers in academic journals as well as conference and workshop proceedings. He is the recipient of more than 30 national and international paper awards.
