Located at the TECTERRA head office, the Geomatics Lab provides state-of-the-art geomatics test and development equipment that are available for use by Alberta companies and those engaged in applied R&D of emerging geomatics technology.

Equipment

Equipment can be used either in our onsite lab or offsite depending on the nature of the equipment and the project.

Lab equipment covers multiple areas of geomatics including a unique, multi-system GNSS simulator (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, inertial systems, wireless location), that allows for testing under various conditions such as flying, driving at high speed or with signal interference. Also available are: laser scanners, rapid prototype machines, photogrammetry systems, unmanned vehicles, and infrastructure monitoring systems.

Training

TECTERRA hosts numerous equipment training courses on the geomatics equipment in our lab. These courses provide hands-on, professional instruction with a completion certificate at the end of the course. There is no cost to participate in these training sessions but you must be registered. Please check back for future training sessions.

Rapid Prototyping

TECTERRA’s Geomatics Lab has two rapid prototyping options available for small and medium geomatics enterprises. Rapid prototyping, or 3D printing, technology is used to fabricate a physical object using a 3D CAD model.
