Located in TECTERRA’s head office, the Geomatics Lab provides geomatics test and development equipment that is available for use by Canadian companies engaged in applied R&D of emerging technology.  In addition to our comprehensive inventory of lab equipment, we also offer rapid prototyping services using our Fortus 400MC FDM 3D printer.

Equipment

Equipment can be used either in our onsite lab or offsite depending on the nature of the equipment and the project.

The Geomatics Lab equipment is available to companies engaged in applied R&D of emerging technologies.  Here are a few examples of how our lab equipment has been used:

  • Development of new GNSS receivers
  • Field trials with a ground penetrating radar
  • Developing algorithms for unmanned systems navigation
  • Using thermal cameras to develop algorithms to identify heat loss in homes
  • Design and test of electronics systems using our Tektronix MDO4104-6 Mixed Domain Oscilloscope

TECTERRA hosts numerous training courses covering a variety of topics including rapid prototyping best practices, GPR operation and interpretation and IoT fundamentals to name a few. These courses provide hands-on, professional instruction with a completion certificate at the end of the course. There is no cost to participate in these training sessions but you must be registered. Rapid Prototyping

TECTERRA’s Geomatics Lab has two rapid prototyping options available for small and medium geomatics enterprises.

  • Fortus 400 MC – The Fortus 400mc allows us to manufacture real parts in-house with multiple production-grade thermoplastics, such as ABS-M30, PC and ULTEM* 9085.  Conquer even the toughest manufacturing projects with ease and speed.
  • Zprinter 450 – This printer is a full colour printer that can be used by design engineers for the production of early-stage 3D appearance models.
