TECTERRA's Trade Mission to Australia a Success!
TECTERRA hosted a very successful trade mission to Brisbane and Perth, Australia, in early November.
The goal of this mission was to connect Canadian Geomatics companies with potential partners, clients, or technology providers in Australia. By making these connections, TECTERRA hopes to open up new market opportunities for Canadian companies to commercialize their innovative technology overseas.
Travelling on this mission were six TECTERRA portfolio companies: The ALCES Group, Clearpath Robotics, ECOPIA Technologies, Foundry Spatial, Lim Geomatics, and Panvion Tehnology Corporation. Whilst in Perth, they attended the 2014 CRCSI Conference, hosted by the Australian Centre for Research and Commercialization of Spatial Information (CRCSI) and presented to more than 300 people. Other associated events included keynote speakers, technical sessions, focused networking events, and opportunities to meet other international participants.
The CRCSI is an international research and development centre that has been operating since 2003 under the Australian CRC Program.
In addition to the conference, the participants were able to network and meet with local businesses, potential partners, and representatives from state governments in Queensland and Western Australia.
TECTERRA would like to thank the Canadian Trade Commissioners Office in Australia for their significant support in organizing successful and well attended networking events, as well as many private B2B meetings for the participants.
Additional outcomes of the mission include the follow-on commercialization efforts of the participating companies who are working hard to secure agreements with the potential partners and/or clients they met while in Perth and Brisbane.
